Tiwanaku is an archaeological city located at 72km from La Paz city and 15km southwest of Titicaca Lake. According to some authors, the Tiwanakota culture originated and developed around 1500 B.C. and collapsed between 900 and 1000D.C.

Itinerary

Activities
  • Private transfer from the lodging place in La Paz or El Alto cities.
  • Travel to Tiwanaku: view of the altiplano landscape and some Aymara communities.
  • Arrival at Tiwanaku and detailed explanation of the main constructions of the place: the Kalasasaya Temple, the Sun’s Gate, the Ponce and Fraile Monoliths, the Akapana Pyramid and the Semi-Underground Temple.
  • Visit of local museums: view of ceramics and stonework carried out by the Tiwanakota culture.
  • Private transfer to the lodging place or to any specific location in La Paz or El Alto cities requested by the client.

  • Additional private transfers can be made from/to the International Airport of El Alto at client’s request, it has an additional cost.
